The Texas Department of Public Safety, DPS, began increasing DWI patrols Sunday, Aug. 19. They will continue the added effort through Wednesday, Sept. 5 , which includes the Labor Day holiday weekend. DPS troopers will focus DWI patrols in high-risk locations at times when alcohol-related crashes are most frequent. For more information, see the Aug. 23 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
