Cattle capable of breeding must be tagged in Texas beginning Jan. 1, 2013. This tagging system targets “sexually intact” adult cattle that change ownership. The Animal Disease Traceability System that is being implemented by the Texas Animal Health Commission has been set in place to trace transmittable diseases in cattle.
