Requests from Franklin County families for holiday food assistance continues to grow. At press time Tuesday, 133 families, including 377 individuals, had requested assistance with food. That is almost triple the number requesting help at this time in 2011. The food basket portion of the Christmas For All program is being organized through the Community Food Bank of Franklin County. Food requests must be received no later than Tuesday, Dec. 11. See the Nov. 29 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more information on how you can help others this holiday season.
