An electrical line dangling in the foreground, sparked a grass fire that  consumed several acres on Monday, Dec. 3. The fire on the northeast service road near the Swarts Dairy was brought under control by brush trucks from the Mount Vernon and South Franklin Volunteer Fire Departments.  For more information, see the Dec. 6 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
