The process of registering as a candidate for election to the Franklin County Water District Board of Directors, Mount Vernon City Council, and the Mount Vernon Independent School District Board of Trustees began Wednesday, Jan. 30. Election day is Saturday, May 11. Candidates have until Friday, March 1 to file for a place on the ballot in any of the three elections. Registration packets are available at City Hall, the school’s administrative offices, and the FCWD offices in downtown Mount Vernon, respectively.
