The Elementary, Intermediate, and Junior High campuses at the Mount Vernon Independent School District received Exemplary ratings from the Texas Education Agency for 2009.

Fish Camp for the incoming freshman students at Mount Vernon High School is set from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 at the high school. The purpose of the event is to meet and greet, tour the campus, and play games.

The Mount Vernon Mighty Tiger Marching Band will begin gearing up for the upcoming season with meetings and rehearsals starting Friday, July 31. The drum majors and squad leaders need to meet at 9 a.m. Friday, July 31.

Baily Hunnicutt and Syke Talsma of Mount Vernon attended  the Texas Farm Bureau’s 46th annual Youth Leadership Conference held at Angelo State University, June 22-26.
