Nominations are still being accepted for the 2009 Franklin County Schools League of Honor. This is the seventh year for the program, which honors outstanding graduates and employees of the Franklin County Schools in a “League of Honor.”

Nominations sought for League of Honor
Colorguard wins nationals
The Mount Vernon High School Colorguard was named National Champions for the second year in a row at the Marching Auxiliaries annual National Championship on March 20-21 at the Fort Worth Convention Center.
Mount Vernon group goes to Washington, D.C.
A group of 22 local residents and junior high students went on a four day trip to Washington, D.C. during spring break, March 9-12.
FFA, 4H project show Saturday, March 28
Seventy-nine entries have been registered for the annual Mount Vernon / Saltillo Young Farmer Project Show. The event is this Saturday, March 28 at the Livestock Pavilion located on FM 115 in Mount Vernon.
Joint workshop scheduled for election administrator position
The Franklin County entities who conduct regular elections have scheduled a joint workshop to discuss creating a position for a shared elections administrator. The meeting is set for noon on Thursday, March 26 in the high school library.
