Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The Mount Vernon Independent School District released the preliminary results of the 2009 Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills tests (TAKS) this week. In 23 of the 27 tests taken, MVISD students scored higher than their counterparts across the state. In the other four tests, scores were equal to state scores. Scores in 17 of the tests  were either higher or equal to MVISD scores from the previous year. For details on how each grade level faired, see the June 25 edition of the Optic-Herald.
