The trusses for the roof of the gym at the site of the new elementary school started going up on Friday, Oct. 2. New Beginnings Steel Erectors of Winnsboro, owned by Frankie Brooks, erected the eight pieces of  steel that are each 2,800 pounds and 80 foot long. His crew used a crane with a 200 foot boom to put the trusses on the top of the building. (Optic Photo by Susan Reeves ’09)
