Students and faculty competing among fifth period classes at Mount Vernon Junior High raised $816.43 during Red Ribbon Week to donate to the Franklin County Community Food Bank.
The classes collected donations throughout the week as a part of their annual Shoot-Out against Drugs lay up competition. Each fifth period class gets to make one lay up for every $5 they collected during the week at the lay up competition conducted on the Friday of Red Ribbon Week.
