Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The Tiger Explorers Junior Historians recently went on a bus tour down Indian trails in Franklin County. Students were guided on the tour by B.F. Hicks and other members of the Franklin County Historical Association.  They visited the original site of the 1841 Ripley Indian Massacre just east of Mount Vernon.  This site is located at the intersection of the Choctaw Trail and the Cherokee Trace.
