A reception to welcome John Kaufman, the new Mount Vernon ISD Superintendent, to the school district is set for Friday, Dec. 11 from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the high school library.
The Mount Vernon Educators Association, the Parent Teacher Association, and the Association of Texas Professional Educators have teamed up to sponsor the reception.
“Our organizations are all excited about our new superintendent, and we are united in this meet and greet occassion,” ATPE President Rita Long said.
Mr. Kaufman has already had a positive impact on MVISD teachers by declaring each Friday as Spirit Day and allowing teachers to wear jeans and Tiger apparel in the classroom. The public is encouraged to attend the receptions and enjoy the refreshments
