Alana Goodwin, eighth grade daughter of David and Lexey Goodwin, placed 15th at the state level of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Patriot’s Pen contest. She received a $400 savings bond.
Earlier this year, she placed fifth at the local level of the event and first at the district level. She is a student in Cathy Robinson’s class at Mount Vernon Junior High School. (Optic Photo ‘08)
