More than 40 students at Mount Vernon Elementary and Intermediate Schools took advantage of free haircuts at the school on Friday, Feb. 19. Fifteen students from the Northeast Texas Community College fall cosmetology class visited the school and provided the haircuts. The event is  conducted each year as  a partnership with the college and the Communities in Schools program.
