The Mount Vernon Independent School District is not expected to participate in any further planning or funding for a swimming pool. Bob McFarland, chairman of the City of Mount Vernon’s Parks and Recreation Committee, made the announcement after meeting with Superintendent John Kaufman Friday, Feb. 26.
