Dakota Crawford, son of Leann and Robert Rosales, won first place and Torin Slater, son of Megan Pace, won third place in the Sulphur-Cypress Soil and Water Conservation District’s Essay Contest.
The two students in Mrs. Lynda Wood’s eighth grade class were recognized and honored with a plaque at the district’s awards banquet on April 27 at the Mount Pleasant Civic Center. See the May 6 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more details.
