Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Members of the third grade  “Kaleidoscope Class” brought 18 historic characters to life. The Wax Museum of characters was open to elementary classes, family and friends Friday morning, May 7 in the Mount Vernon high school gym. The students of Kathy Byrd selected various historic characters, prepared a display set, dressed as the character, and presented a one minute history of their character’s life accomplishments. More than 200 visited the exhibit. Five of the exhibits were recognized for having outstanding displays.  See the May 13 edition of the Optic-Herald for a listing of students and the characters they portrayed.
