Amanda Anderson and Brad Dearing were named the Most Outstanding Artists in the Advanced Placement Art class by Caitlyn Rutledge at the Art Banquet on Thursday, May 13.
Others named as Outstanding Artists were J. J. Rivera for Pre-Advanced Placement, Heather Dearing for Art II/III, and Jessica Standridge for Art I.
Josh Johnson, Macie Rains, and Lacee Hulsey were recognized for their work through the art club. Mr. Johnson received a special award from the Franklin County Arts Alliance during the banquet.
Mrs. Rutledge presented a slide show and listed the achievements of students at the Visual Arts Scholastic Event, V.A.S.E., and the Northeast Texas College Art Day. For more information, see the May 20 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
