The Franklin County Retired School Employees Association received the Texas Retired Teachers Association’s State Award for the highest percentage of increase in the Walk’s-A-Million Program for the 2009-10 year. The award was presented at the TRTA State Convention in April and is displayed by group President Minnie Laughton Birdsong.
