Athletic director and head football coach Charles Swann tendered his resignation from Mount Vernon ISD on Thursday, July 15. It is effective July 30.
He is retiring after 34 years as a coach. He has been the head football coach for Mount Vernon for the past four years and had previously coached for the Tigers making a total of eight years with the district. See the July 22 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more details.
