Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Members of the staff at Mount Vernon Elementary School planted pink ribbons in the flowerbeds at the school in honor of first grade teacher Cindy Reed, who is currently battling breast cancer. Wooden pink ribbon stakes have been made to place in the flower beds around the elementary campus or they may be placed in individual  yards.  The ribbons can be purchased for $20 from the elementary school office.
