Tucker Gatlin will compete in the state American Legion Oratorical Contest in Kerrville, Tex., on Monday, Feb. 16. Mr. Gatlin competed in the district and regional contest earlier this year and advanced to the state contest. He is representing the local American Legion Post 243.
If he advances at the state level, he will compete on the national level in Indianapolis and try for his chance at more than $160,000 in scholarships. As a participant in the event, Mr. Gatlin must present a speech pertaining to the Constitution of the United States of America. He will be honored at the local post on Sunday, March 29 as the winner on the district and regional levels.
