Mount Vernon ISD earned a 4 1/2 rating out of a possible five points from the Texas Comptroller’s Financial Allocation Study for Texas (FAST) last week. FAST is a new system that looks at both TAKS score improvement and district expenditures. Only 43 of the state’s more than 1,200 schools received the highest rating. For more information, see the Dec. 16 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
