The Board of Trustees for Mount Vernon ISD honored outstanding students, approved the adoption of textbooks, and accepted the resignations of 14 teachers at their regular monthly meeting on Monday, March 21. The board honored members of the high school girl’s basketball team, who advanced to the Area round of playoffs; the FFA Ag Mechanics team, who brought home four blue ribbons, one second in class, and two third in class awards from a contest in February; and the Leaders of Tomorrow group for their participation in the Chamber of Commerce program.
