The Tiger Explorer history group from Mount Vernon Intermediate School went on a field trip to the Rogers-Drummond Mansion in Franklin County on Thursday, March 5. The host for the event was B.F. Hicks.
The students got an extensive tour of the mansion plus the grounds of the pre-civil war home. Students heard the history of the home from Mrs. Debbie Porter resident of the home. At the conclusion of the tour, students were entertained by Mr. and Mrs. Porter on various musical instruments and songs of the Civil war era.
