Nearly 13,000 children enrolled in the Texas Tuition Promise Fund during its first annual enrollment period, Texas Comptroller Susan Combs announced earlier this week. More than $239 million in prepaid college tuition contracts were sold from Sept. 1, 2008, to Feb. 28, 2009.
Texas Tuition Promise Fund enrollment is now closed until September 2009; however, newborns, children under the age of one year, may be enrolled in the program through July 31 at the current contract prices. For more information, see the March 19 edition of the Optic-Herald.
