Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Mount Vernon High School will be presenting a “STAAR” informational meeting for parents tonight Thursday, Jan. 26, at 5:30 p.m. in the high school dining hall. Beginning in the spring of 2012, students will take a new state test called the “State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness” or “STAAR.”  The STAAR test is a more rigorous standardized testing program that will replace the TAKS test.
