The Bald Eagle attracted the most attention at the “HawkQuest” presentation Wednesday, April 1 at the Mount Vernon school.
The eagle, a protected bird, was rescued after a hunter caused its mother to abandon the nest and the fledging female fell. Kin A. Quitugaua, a master falconer and environmental educator, presented the program to families after school. About 250 people attended the program presented courtesy of the Friends of the Library organization. Included in the presentation was a Harris Hawk, Horned Owl, Peregrine Falcon and the Bald Eagle.
