Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The Mount Vernon School Board adopted a total tax ordinance of $1.17674 for 2012 in a special called meeting on Monday, Aug. 27 . Members set the tax rate  at $.99024 for maintenance and operations. This is the same rate utilized for the previous five years. The tax rate required to meet the $20.5 million bond will be the same as the previous two years. It was set at $.1865 per $100 value.
