Fourth grade students at Mount Vernon Elementary School released 100 balloons last week.
The balloons carried away the student’s excuses for why they might not pass the STAAR test. Teachers are working to excite their students prior to the tests scheduled in April. See the Feb. 7 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald for more details about the effort.
