The Franklin County Youth Baseball and Softball Association will have closing ceremonies for the 2009 season at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, June 11 on Lindley Field. The event was originally scheduled for June 12 but was rescheduled due to a conflict with the Sweetees All-Star Tournament in Sulphur Springs.

The Mount Vernon boys and girls basketball camp is set for Monday through Wednesday, June 1-3 in the high school gym at the school. The camp is for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.

The Athletic Booster Club is getting prepared for the 2009-10 school year. A meeting has been set for Monday, June 1 at 6 p.m. at Mount Vernon Cafe to fill two vacant positions on the club’s board of directors and to discuss opportunities for service for the coming year.
