The relay team and Coltin Keener, a participant of the varsity boys 100 meter dash, will compete at the regional track meet at Texas A&M University - Commerce on May 1-2 after placing at the district meet in Atlanta on Thursday, April 16. A walk-off home run by Mount Vernon’s Jakayla Rogers in the bottom of the ninth inning last Tuesday had a triple effect. It added three runs to the scoreboard, declared the defeat of the New Boston Lady Lions, and vaulted the Lady Tigers into first place in District 16-3A competition.

The Mount Vernon Tigers defeated Liberty Eylau 16-5 on Monday, April 20, and fell 6-5 to New Boston on Tuesday, April 14.
