Varsity Tigers place fourth at meet

The Mount Vernon Tiger track team placed fourth at the Prairiland Patriot Invitational on Tuesday, March 3. The junior varsity team placed third at the event.See the March 12 edition of the Optic-Herald for all the details.

 

Junior high Lady Lions are undefeated

Junior high Lady Lions are undefeated

The Saltillo Junior High Lady Lions Basketball team completed another undefeated season.  This is the second year that this group of Lady Lions went untouched compiling a win/loss record of 36-0 for the past two seasons.

Ladies lose to Quitman

The Mount Vernon Lady Tiger softball team suffered a hard loss to Quitman on Tuesday, Feb. 24 with a 0-6 score. The ladies were at bat 25 times and made three hits. See the March 5 edition of the Optic-Herald for more details.

JV Tigers win one, lose one

The Mount Vernon junior varsity Tiger baseball team played a double header against Sulphur Springs on Saturday, Feb. 28. The team lost the first game 14-7 and won the second game 8-6. See more details in the March 5 edition of the Optic-Herald.

Tiger golf team places first

The Mount Vernon Tiger golf team placed first at the Caddo Mills Invitational with a score of 322.
