Cross country competes

Thomas Stokes races to the finish line at the Mount Pleasant Cross Country Meet. Joshua O’Rand placed 12th in the junior varsity boys division of the North Lamar Cross Country Meet on Saturday, Oct. 17 at North Lamar.

Tigers to be hosts for Hawks

The Mount Vernon Tiger football team will be hosts for the Pleasant Grove Hawks Friday night at Tiger Stadium. Kick off will be at 7:30 p.m. The Hawks defeated Atlanta 42-14 last week and are 1-1 in District 16-3A competition. The previous week, they fell to Libery Eylau 34-14. Little Dribbler sign ups set

Sign ups for the 2009-10 Little Dribblers Youth Basketball season are set for Saturday, Oct. 24 and Friday, Oct. 30. Parents can sign up their children at the youth football/soccer games or before and during the Tigers vs. Pirates football game at Tiger Stadium on Friday, Oct. 30.
