The Mount Vernon Tigers will travel to Texarkana to face the Liberty-Eylau Leopards for the second game of district play for 2009. Liberty-Eylau is the Division I representative for District 16-3A.

The Mount Vernon junior varsity Tiger football team lost their first district game of the season to the New Boston Lions 0-10.
