A Mount Vernon Cheer Camp is set for Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the intermediate gym. The camp is for girls in kindergarten through sixth grade and will include classes in dancing, jumping, and stunting. For more information, see the Sept. 3 edition of the Optic-Herald.
A course in hunter education is scheduled for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday nights, Oct. 5-7. The 10 hour course will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Mount Vernon High School Agricultural Building.
