Registration to participate in the 2009 Franklin County Youth Soccer league is set for 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 at Dairy Queen. The cost to participate in the program is $30. See the Aug. 20 edition of the Optic-Herald for more information.

Kellan Carroll drops back to pass the ball during Tiger’s scrimmage on Saturday in Queen City. The Tiger football teams scrimmaged against both Queen City and Paul Pewitt on Saturday, Aug. 15. The 2009-2010 varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders participated in their first event of the year. They cheered and encouraged the football team from along the sidelines during the Meet the Tigers scrimmage on Saturday, Aug. 8.
