The Franklin County Ponytails All Star team is conducting a fund-raising event on Saturday, July 4 at the old Tire City building in Mount Vernon to earn money for their trip to the state tournament on July 10 in Liberty. The group is having a rummage sale that will begin at 8 a.m.

The Franklin County Angels All-Star softball team played Saturday, June 20 in the All-Star Tournament in Detroit.PeeWee team is second
The Franklin County PeeWee All Star team finished the All Star Tournament in Sulphur Springs in second place. The team was defeated in the championship game with a score of 9-10 to the Sulphur Springs Nationals team.Ponytails headed to state tournament
The Franklin County Ponytail All-Star team will compete at the State Dixie Youth Softball Tournament on July 11 in Liberty, Tex. The team earned the spot at the tournament after a 10-3 win over Hopkins County in the district championship on Monday, June 22 in Detroit.All star tournaments scheduled this weekend
Two local and two out of town All-Star Tournaments are scheduled for Franklin County teams for the weekend of June 26-27. The Darlings will compete in their tournament beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 26 at Lindley Field against either Red River or Sulphur Springs.
