The Mount Vernon Tigers defeated Liberty Eylau 16-5 on Monday, April 20, and fell 6-5 to New Boston on Tuesday, April 14. The Mount Vernon junior varsity Lady Tigers finished their 2009 season as district champs with a 3-0 district record. The teams’ overall record was 8-1 having only lost one game to Prairiland earlier this season.  See the April 16 edition of the Optic-Herald for game information.

The Lady Tiger softball team defeated Atlanta 5-1 to move themselves into a tied position for first place in district. Kelsey Whitlock make the second out of a double play at home plate.
