Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

The Franklin County Sweetees All Star team competed in the Sweetees Allstar tournament on June 12-13 in Sulphur Springs and won first place. Six teams were entered in the tournament. The Mount Vernon girls won all five games. Members of the team are as follows: front row, left to right, Josey Bench, Kaci Sumrow, Kaelyn Taylor, Chloe Cox, and Lindsey Anschutz; second row, Tessa Deal, McKayla Evans, Alexys Hill, Heather Gray, Caitlin Gillean, and Kenya Bates, and Coach Roy Newsome. Coaches not pictured are Adam Anglin, Deon Anglin, Scott Newsome, and Jamisson Griffith.
