The Mount Vernon Tiger football team will face the New Boston Lions on their home field on Friday at 7:30 p.m. as District competition for 16-3A football begins. The teams are ranked in Texas 3A football on the Harris Weekly Ratings as follows: Liberty Eylau - 20, New Boston - 33, Pleasant Grove - 34, Pittsburg - 40, Atlanta - 51, and Mount Vernon - 67.
