Mount Vernon Optic-Herald

Members of the local Deep East Texas Baseball Association 10 and under team placed third in their division in the World Series in Marshall on June 13. They beat five teams in the tournament. The newly developed team is made up of boys from the East Texas area that travel to surrounding towns to compete in a select level of play.  Members of the team are Brent Baird, Carson Collvins, Logan Cooney,Tyler Cooper, Bryce Crow, Dakota Durfee, Mason Lowery, Kaden Proffitt, D’Mitri Rape, Trey Wickware, and Cameron Woods.  Brian Baird and Morgan Lowery served as bat boys for the team.  The group is coached by Robby Collvins with assistantce from Ethan Collvins, Gregg Cooney and Jake Proffitt.
