Player in-person registration for the area Buddy Baseball program has been set for Saturday, Feb. 14, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Lamar Avenue Church of Christ in Paris.
Children ages five to 17 with any type of disability are eligible to play. The program is open to any of these children living in the northeast Texas area.
Registration will continue through Feb. 22 online at www.redriverdss.org. For mail-in or drop-off registration information, please call RRVDSS at 903-783-1922.
“But Buddy Baseball is nothing without the buddies, and we know that they are the ones that really make it possible to have this great program,” Deanna Tharpe, volunteer said.
Buddies are volunteers 12 years or older who help their player by acting as guides for blind children, by pushing wheelchair-bound children around the bases, or by helping them bat or field the ball.
