Kristen Stinson, riding her horse Pantera, recently won the Middlesex County Horse Show 1.30-meter Mini Prix.
The Lt. Colonel James Marsh Prix at the Middlesex County Horse Show had a field of 17 horse and rider combinations which included the Irish Olympian Kevin Babington on three different horses.
A Mini Prix is a two round show jumping class that offers prize money. In this case, $10,000 was divided among the top eight finishers with Ms. Stinson receiving $3,000.
“It’s a nice paycheck for a young professional like me to get,” Ms. Stinson said.
The first round consisted of 12 obstacles set at a height of 1.3 meters. Riders who navigate the course without incurring any faults move to the second round called a jump off. For more information, see the August 25 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
