Applications accepted for energy bill help

Northeast Texas Opportunities, Inc. (NETO) is now accepting applications for energy assistance  for those who are having a hard time paying their electric or gas bills.

Dejah Day set for March 21

Dejah Day has been planned for Saturday, March 21 in downtown Mount Vernon. Entertainment, games, vendor booths, a 5K, a bake off with live auction, and a silent auction have been planned.

Chamber of Commerce banquet Saturday

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce Membership Banquet will be Saturday, February 28 and a crowd of more than 200 is expected. The banquet will be in the Family Life Center at the First United Methodist Church.

Special meeting for sports complex work bids Friday

A special meeting has been called for 11 a.m. Friday, February 27, to open and award bids for work at the Franklin County Sports Complex. The meeting was called after an error in the agenda for last Monday’s meeting allowed for opening only one of the three bid groups.
