Bakeoff funds dedicated to meals program

Profits collected through the Mount Vernon Key Club’s annual Spring Bake off will be dedicated to the home delivered meals program administered by the Northeast Texas Opportunities, Inc.

Young Farmers Project Show raises more than $60,000

The annual Mount Vernon/Saltillo FFA and 4-H Project Show raised more than $60,000 on Saturday, March 29 at the livestock pavilion. As of press time Tuesday, more than $28,000 in additional add-on money had been received

Representatives from the American Legion Auxiliary and American Legion Post 243 each donated funds to the Kid Fish project.Representatives from the American Legion Auxiliary and American Legion Post 243 each donated funds to the Kid Fish project. The Auxiliary had a bake sale and raised $503. The Legion donated $150.

FFA brings home five blue ribbons

Grant hearing Tuesday on Fleming building project

The Mount Vernon Economic Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on whether or not to award a matching grant of $15,000 to Brad and Stephanie Hyman for restoration work on the Fleming building.
