The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has released a sobering video aimed at motivating teens and young adults to follow simple safety guidelines while boating.

Donations sought for fireworks show on Lake Cypress Springs

Donations are being sought to fund the annual Independence Day weekend fire works show on Lake Cypress Springs. All contributions over the cost of the materials for the show are donated to the South Franklin Volunteer Fire Department.

Publisher to be featured at Black Onyx banquet

Flag pole dedicated to veterans on Memorial Day

The flag pole dedicated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Memorial Day was an Eagle Scout project by Andrew Babb.A dedication ceremony for a newly erected flag pole at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church was conducted on Monday afternoon, Memorial Day. The new pole, complete with lighting, is located east of the church buildings and south of the sign that fronts Hwy. 37 near the Rutherford St. intersection.
