Hensley, Auringer honored with Silver Beaver awards

Curtis Hensley and Dan AuringerCurtis Hensley and Dan Auringer of Franklin County were presented with the Silver Beaver award for their outstanding service to scouting. The awards were presented earlier this month at the annual banquet of the NeTseO (Northeast Texas Southeastern Oklahoma) Trails Council of Boy Scouts of America.

World championship disc golf returns to Franklin County

The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce has once again joined forces with Circular Productions to be hosts for the Amateur World Doubles Championship. The event is sanctioned by the Professional Disc Golf Association.

Key Club Bake-off set for April 12

The Mount Vernon Key Club will be sponsoring its 11th annual bake-off on Saturday, April 12.  The event will be conducted at the Cultural Arts Center at the corner of Rusk and Dallas streets in Mount Vernon.
