Pro World Champion disc golfer Paige Pierce shows Jackson Wallis, age five, and Kierney Wallis, age 22, the proper way to hold and throw a disc during the public clinic on Saturday at Selah Ranch.
They are the grandchildren of Lynda Watson of Mount Vernon. A total of 334 disc golfers and about that many spectators and support staff braved the elements at the 2014 Amateur World Doubles disc golf championships at the Selah and Trey Texas ranches April 4-6. Players representing 21 states did not miss a beat, and those reaching the finals played a total of 64 holes. For a listing of winners in the seven divisions of the tournament, see the April 10 edition of the Mount Vernon Optic-Herald.
