The Franklin County Historical Commission, and its nonprofit association, was recognized by the Texas State Historical Commission. The Distinguished Service Award was formally presented by Judge Paul Lovier during the Monday, July 28 meeting of the Franklin County Commissioners Court.
The local commissionis one of 87 of Texas’ 254 county commissions to earn the award. The Texas Historical Commission presents Distinguished Service Awards to recognize high-performing county historical commissions that report a wide range of preservation accomplishments.
