New Boston man arrested in Valentine stabbing death

Funding for local airport improvements approved

The Texas Transportation Commission approved $625,000 for facility improvements for the Franklin County Airport at its meeting April 30. Ten percent of the project’s cost is funded by Franklin County with the remainder from the Aviation Facilities Grant Program.

Forensic audit nears completion at local NETO service agency

Northeast Texas Opportunities, Inc. (NETO) has been the victim of a suspected fraud estimated at $726,430 committed by former employees of the agency, according to the 2012-13 Audit Report from the firm of Gomez and Company, CPAs of Houston.

Dr. White surrenders medical license

Dr. Robert F. White voluntarily surrendered his medical license last month to the Texas Medical Board (TMB). He was one of six physicians to do so, and he surrendered his license on April 10, 2015.

County signs agreement for help with Afordable Care Ac
